At least two perspectives of design activity are in step with the action-centric perspective. Both contain 3 ordinary activities.

In the sensemaking–coevolution–implementation framework, designers alternate among its three titular activities. Sensemaking contains both framing and evaluating moves. Implementation is the method of constructing the design object. Coevolution is "the procedure where the design agent concurrently refines its intellectual photograph of the layout object in accordance with its intellectual picture of the context, and vice versa"
